Meet the Delhi Gals!

Life at Wallis house is an experience unlike any other. The privilege of being surrounded by like-minded young Christians is indescribable. It has helped all three of us to grow in our faith, has allowed us to discover new talents and to become more confident in oursleves. That being said it hasn’t been without its challenges. We spent four days of our 2nd week at a Christian adventure centre in Wales being stretched, physically, mentally and emotionally, however, we emerged at the other side confident that God’s hand was involved in the formation of our team. Another challenge was delivering our first church service at our training church. Naomi was the only member of our team who had ever preached before, but we remained unfazed as we met the challenge head on. We were ready to cobble together some sort of vaguely profound message for the following morning, however, with the help of God, and some pretty cool microphone headsets, we managed to deliver our first ever service! As we move into our last week of training, our upcoming adventure to India is becoming much more real. As terrifying as this is, it is equally exciting as we prepare ourselves to fly half way across the world to encounter, embrace and assimilate into a new culture. But first… Who are we exactly? Naomi

Hello world. My name is Naomi and I am an 18 year old from Poynton. I was born in Croatia and moved to France when I was 4. At the age of 10 I returned to the UK where I have remained ever-since patiently awaiting the day I was old enough to return abroad. I am a people-lover and so have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know my fellow Action Teamers over the past few weeks. Although the thought of being scattered across the globe is daunting, I am excited for all the people I am yet to meet throughout my time abroad and beyond. Needless to say, I have a passion for God and for serving Him and therefore can’t wait to get out to DELHI!

Hi, my name is Miriam and I am from Beckenham. I’m really excited to spend the next 6 months learning more about God while serving Him overseas. I’m looking forward to the challenge of living in a new culture and working as a teacher. The last 3 weeks have been amazing as we have bonded as a team in a way that I didn’t realise was possible and has made me even more excited for what the next year holds.

Hey, I’m Megan Hughes from Essex. I have always loved experiencing new things and spending time meeting new people. I am so looking forward to getting stuck into a brand new culture and being able to use the gifts God has given me to improve the lives of others. I am so grateful for this experience and have really enjoyed the past weeks of training developing my character in many ways and growing closer to God and my team. I can’t wait to see what the next months of my gap year has in store for me and for all the other Action Teamers!

    Hello Delhi Gals,
Good to hear from you. Well done on your first service. We hope it will give you confidence to rely on the Lord and his inspiration. He won’t let you down. We trust your final days at IMC are helping build you all up for the next step. We’ll be praying for your safety and for the Lord to help you with the language, as we know this is going to be a challenge for each of you. Bless you.
Enjoy the time you’ll have with your families. We’re sure it will be a blessing to them. We will be praying for them too as you leave for India. Love to you all, Maureen and Arthur.
