Meet the Delightful Team Delhi!

I welcome you to team Delhi’s inaugural blog post. Before we dish the details of training, we though it best to introduce ourselves.

Hi, I’m Orla. I’m 18 and I live near Bristol with my parents, 3 sisters and our dog. I am doing Action Teams because I really want to explore and be apart of Gods amazing world! He calls up to be shining lights in a world of darkness for him and that is what I am hoping to do in India, be a shining vessel for Gods love and joy for his world! I am so excited to get stuck into the Indian culture, clothes… but not so much their curry’s!! Spicy food isn’t really my thing!! Even so, I can’t wait to see what God has planned for us on this wild adventure!! Fun fact: I have a strange knack for remembering Cbeebies theme tunes.

Hi, I’m Amy, i’m 18 and i’m from a small town called Stonehaven on the North East of sunny Scotland! I am practicalities coordinator, purely based on the fact my mum tells me I’m “the practical sibling” – let’s hope she’s not wrong! I’m known as one of the loud ones, as often you can hear me before you see me and if you ever need me just listen out for my laugh. I didn’t plan on taking a gap year (more on that another time) but I’m so glad God’s put me where I am and I just can’t wait to meet the women and children we’ll be working with! I am currently applying for Children’s Nursing at university so hope to take than up after this year! Fun fact: Prince Harry has visited my school.

Hi, I’m Hannah! I come from West Oxfordshire and have been brought up in a Christian home with my younger brother which has been an absolute blessing as my parents have brought us up knowing what it means to be loved by Jesus, which is part of what brings me on this gap year as my parents have also encouraged us to follow God’s calling. We are a dog-loving family and love to be outdoors exploring nature, particularly when we go to Dartmouth, Devon, which is our favourite place to go on holiday! I love going swimming, riding my bike, meeting up with friends, painting and reading books, all of which make me who I am and who God has made me to be. Fun fact: I love to ski!

Hoo’s it gan? My names Cody, and if you couldn’t already tell I’m from the best wee country on earth, Scotland. In my humble opinion of course. I grew up in a non-Christian family, but I have always attended the local church youth group which is how I came to faith. If there is one thing I love, it’s Scotland! Or more specifically being in the bonnie Scottish hills. I’m very patriotic if you hadn’t already guessed. I landed the role of communications coordinator (lucky me) which means that I get the privilege of being able to nag the others about content for the blog. That also means that if you have any unsavoury comments about the blog, you can send them to me at your own risk (jokes, we would love feedback). I’m still unsure about what I want to do after Action Teams, but I trust that God will reveal more of His plan for me over the course of the next year. Fun fact: I am the Queen of weird party tricks.

Thanks for taking the time to read our first ever blog post. Watch this space for updates throughout the year.
