We’re Back… So Now What?

Team France took a short break from the blogs to spend time with our families. We’re all happy to be back in the UK… but now what?

While in France we missed religious freedom; young people talking about faith, even being open about our Christianity and why we were in France. When we came back it was so easy to tell friends about what we’d been up to. We missed snacking! It’s completely real. In France there was never anything to nibble on.
This sounds crazy but I actually miss knowing everyone in the Church was Christian! In France people don’t always know the basics of Christianity, like Bible stories. Multiple times we made the mistake of assuming what people knew.
Also there were no baths; showers for six months. That, especially for Taff, was a struggle.

We miss from Paris being able to hop on a train and see the Eiffel Tower. In Nice we missed the beautiful blue sea and the constant sunshine. But we miss the Notre Dame permanently, as it burned while we were in training. The Notre Dame was Caitlin’s favourite part of Paris. Overall we miss the people that we met, the language (we’re all afraid of losing it) and the constant flow of bread and cheese. Most of all we miss Charlotte and Pauline from Nice!

Right now Team France is preparing for tour in Selly Oak, Birmingham. We have sessions each day on content relevant to the tour such has house to do an assembly, what not to do at your host’s house, and reflecting on the past year.We now feel ready to lead a service and give testimony about what God has worked through and in us this year.

We’re now on the brink of tour, starting at Caitlin’s church in MacDuff and ending down in Taff’s church in Southend. Tour is an exciting time for us to share about our times in an Action Team; however, Tour is possibly one of the hardest parts of an Action Team year. We pray for energy to move from place to place for the next two months, and that we can serve the churches on tour to the best of our ability.

– For those helping to recover the Notre Dame after the terrible fire, and for those who worship there
– That we can help in communities up and down the UK
– For energy during tour

God is great. All the time. And especially today on Good Friday. You will all be fantastic, just because of who you are, and because you go with the Holy Spirit and Jesus promised to give you all the words you need.

Love to you all. Chris xxx
